Registered by the South African Qualifications Authority ID No 88062, National Qualifications Framework Level 5.
The hospitality industry makes a significant contribution to the national and global economy. As such, the industry requires competent managerial staff who possess the required skills and knowledge for successful hospitality management.
Students achieving this qualification are competent to apply hospitality-specific frontline and management skills with specific focus on hospitality management.
Delivered as a distance learning programme, qualifying learners will through a combination of academic and work-integrated learning, acquire the necessary competencies required to fulfil roles in lower- or middle-management positions within the hospitality industry.
What does the programme cover
Students are required to complete eight compulsory modules. One of these modules includes 12 weeks of practical work experience in the hospitality industry.

Graduates receive the IHS Higher Certificate in Hospitality Management with an AHLEI certificate for each subject completed, as well as the Specialisation Certificate in Rooms Division Management.
– Admission requirements –
National Senior Certificate (NSC) with admission to study a Higher Certificate or equivalent.

Graduates receive the Specialisation Certificate awarded by the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), as well as a single course certificate for each module passed.
Course Description
This programme introduces students to the world of spas, taking a comprehensive look at subjects ranging from the history and cultural development of spas to spa terminology and financial realities. Other areas include retail management and general supervision.
What does the programme cover?

Description du cours
L industrie de l hospitalité apporte une contribution significative à l économie nationale et mondiale. En tant que tel, l industrie a besoin personnel d encadrement compétent qui possèdent les compétences et les connaissances requises pour l alimentation et la gestion réussie de la boisson.
Élèves ayant atteint cette qualification sont compétentes pour appliquer de première ligne et de gestion des compétences propres à l hôtellerie avec un accent particulier sur la gestion des aliments et des boissons.
Livré comme un programme d apprentissage à distance, les apprenants seront admissibles grâce à une combinaison de l apprentissage académique et intégré au travail, d acquérir les compétences nécessaires pour remplir des rôles dans des positions ou subalterne Moyen-gestion au sein de l industrie alimentaire et des boissons.
